The ribeye steak is highly marbled, with a succulent channel of fat separating through it. Fat is where a lot of the distinctive flavor of Wagyu Ribeye steak beef comes from, making the ribeye one of the richest cuts available. If you want to experience wagyu in the best way possible we would suggest the ribeye. Cooking Tips: To ensure the best taste for your wagyu steaks, we recommend to serve them medium rare. Make sure you rest the steak for as long as you cook it to allow the juices to absorb into the meat

Steak Seasoning: Fennel Seeds, Black Peppercorn, Coriander Seeds, Szechuan Pepper, Maldon Sea Salt, Fine Sea Salt

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE INGREDIENTS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR HOME FREEZING

  • On a rare occasion, we need to substitute items. This may be as a result of supplier availability or seasonality
  • Remove steak from fridge; remove from bag & pat dry. Leave to sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  • Pre heat oven to 200c.
  • Place a frying pan on a high heat and pour in 3 tbsp of neutral oil (veg, sunflower, rapeseed oil). Season steak with seasoning mix provided to taste.
  • When pan is smoking hot, place steak in pan and push down slightly so that the meat is in full contact with the pan. Sear until golden on one side, then turn over. 
  • Remove butter from the package and place it into pan. Let the butter melt and begin to foam, then baste the steak using a dessert spoon for 1 minute with the foaming butter. 
  • Remove steak from pan and place on an oven tray. Cook in oven: 5 minutes for rare, 7-9 minutes for medium rare, 11-13 minutes for medium, 15-17 minutes for medium well, 25 minutes for well done. 
  • Remove from oven and cover with tin foil or a bowl. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes. 
  • Slice thinly and serve. (Follow instructions on video link on website to see how Dean recommends to prepare your steak).
  • Remove XO sauce from packet and heat until piping hot in a small pot.
