Pro Series 005: Tom Rhodes (MasterChef Champion 2021 ) X Dean Banks - Wine Flight Selection

We are delighted to be teaming up with Tom Rhodes as part of our latest installment of our Professionals Series. The Collaboration will see our very own Dean Banks team up with MasterChef Champion 2021 Tom Rhodes that will provide you with an amazing at-home food experience delivered to your door on Friday 2nd July.

Luxurious Blanc de Blanc from Charles Heidsieck works beautifully with Dean’s Lobster and shows why Chardonnay is Champagne’s most sought-after grape!  To join our lovely spring weather, no Rose works better than the `Estérelle` from the home of dry rose - Côtes de Provence.  Finally, we travel to Spain for the single vineyard `Viña Lanciano` Rioja Reserva, from the leading producer Bodegas LAN, amazing with your ribeye (and save some for dessert)!

Our wine flight includes:

NV Blanc de Blancs, Charles Heidsieck, Champagne, France (37.5cl) ABV 12%

Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs is a pale, crystalline gold colour. The nose is characterised by aromas of mature Chardonnay; white peach, candied citrus with notes of lime, honeysuckle and fresh hazelnuts giving way to subtle hints of tangerine and lemon. On the palate, the Blanc de Blancs bears all the hallmarks of a Charles Heidsieck Champagne: boldness, generosity and elegance. Embracing yet light, it displays appealing mineral, slightly salty, iodine notes, and has a silky, creamy texture – unexpected from a Chardonnay – that leaves a lasting impression.

2020 `Estérelle` Côtes de Provence, Château du Rouët, France (75cl) ABV 12.5%

This wine is pale salmon in colour with bright aromas of ripe citrus and white blossom. There's a great freshness on the palate, with the fruit and acidity working in complete harmony. Flavours of berries and citrus linger on the finish.

2015 `Viña Lanciano` Rioja Reserva, Bodegas LAN, Spain (75cl) ABV 13.5%

This wine is bright crimson in colour with purple hues. Elegant aromas of ripe red and black fruits, liquorice and sweet spice are combined with the signature minerality of wines from the Viña Lanciano estate, a smokiness from the oak and earthy, leathery aromas from the bottle age.The palate is silky and elegant, showcasing ripe fruits and finely integrated tannins. This is a remarkable wine from Rioja which boasts a characteristic elegance and finesse.
