Haar at Home x Dulse Seafood

The collaboration of the year has arrived.

If you have been longing to visit one of Chef Dean Banks’ restaurants but live a little far away from the capital, then your prayers have been answered. We have teamed up with our friends over at Dulse Edinburgh to bring you a little ‘best of’ from their delicious menu.

Dulse opened their doors a few months ago in Edinburgh’s West End and have been taking the area by storm in their short time there. Scotland’s finest ingredients is the order of the day and boy, do they do them well. Showcasing some of the most delicious seafood that our shores have to offer, the team deliver them brilliantly. All with the usual Dean Banks pizzazz we all know and love.

In a world first, we are bringing you the opportunity to try a selection of their delicious dishes, all from the comfort of your own home. Each has been carefully prepared and packaged for you ahead of time, so all you will need to do is heat, plate and eat them. We’ve included easy-to-follow instructions on how to do this too, don’t you worry.

Dulse strive to showcase the most delicious, seasonal ingredients that Scotland has to offer. Each of their dishes hero a key ingredient, and serve this alongside some other seasonal components to make a truly uncomplicated and unforgettable culinary experience.

The restaurant focuses around relaxed dining, and this should be no different when you are enjoying their dishes at home. This is why each of the dishes can be prepared extremely quickly, and with ease too. You can find all of the instructional videos on the Haar at Home YouTube channel too.

Let’s get into the four incredible dishes available in your Dulse x Haar at Home luxury box, shall we?

Trout Pastrami

This signature dish has been on the Dulse menu since day one, and it’s plain to see why. Loch Etive trout has been brined in salt and sugar to draw out the moisture, leaving the fish to have an almost spring-like texture. This is then seasoned with our pastrami seasoning. Imagine a homage to the inconic Katz Deli in New York, with a Dulse twist.

The exceptional trout is served with some rye bread crisps, Katy Rodgers crème fraiche and some coriander oil. A true taste and texture explosion, perfect for kicking off your special evening at home.

Lobster Crumpet

We couldn’t showcase one of Dean’s restaurants without including the iconic St. Andrews Bay lobster in some capacity. Our regular customers will be very familiar with the signature lobster with mirin butter dish that we have done since day one.

Delicate lobster meat is tossed in a nutty beurre noisette with grapefruit, lemon and lime. Compliments the rich, buttery flavours perfectly and leaves you with a true taste explosion. This is served atop a toasted artisan crumpet for a delicious addition to this culinary journey of yours.

Octopus

Our delicious octopus is first braised in an aromatic stock until perfectly tender, and is then finished on the barbecue. To serve, it is dusted with smoky paprika and a savoury porcini powder. This is complimented by a burnt tomato sauce and barley that features notes of orange, honey, and lemon. The masterpiece is complete with a little drizzle of basil oil. A truly iconic item from the Dulse menu.

Chocolate Pavé

What would a delicious evening be without dessert? We couldn’t quite imagine a night without a sweet course to round things off.

Toasted sunflower seeds with dark chocolate, miso and salted caramel ganache, Michel Cluizel chocolate, dulche de leche. A combination of some of the most delicious flavours make up a final course worthy of the Dulse x Haar at Home collaboration box.
