75cl | 14% ABV | Empordà, Cataluña, Spain | Garnacha & Cariñena

Tasting Notes

Aromas of red cherries, blackberries and violets. On the palate there are notes of liquorice, coffee and hints of fresh rosemary.

The Producer

Former El Bulli head sommelier David Seijas works with local growers across Spain's gastronomic north. He selects the best vineyards and indigenous grapes to make elegant, food-friendly wines.

The Vineyards

The Grenache comes from 13- to 15-year-old vines on granite, in the Mas Marés area facing the sea. The Carignan comes from 86-year-old vines on slate in Rabós, facing the mountains, where the strong northern tramuntana wind can reach 120km/h.

In the Winery

Each variety is handled separately. The Grenache is fermented in stainless steel with 10% whole bunches and aged for six months on fine lees. The Carignan spends 10 months in new and used French oak. After blending, the wine rests for three months in bottle before release.

Pair it with: a 1kg Tomahawk, or try its white sibling, Ikigall.
