Tasting Notes

Brilliantly clear salmon pink. The nose is intense, with redcurrant and wild strawberry notes that develop into juicy white peach and pear. On the palate, fresh acidity is beautifully balanced with the alcohol, giving an elegant mouthfeel and refreshing length.

The Producer

Château Beaulieu is in Rognes, with 180 hectares of vines at 400 metres in an ancient volcanic crater. The land has been farmed since Roman times, and the château was built as a stronghold for the French King Henry III. Today it's run by the Jeanjean family.

The Vineyards

The sunny, dry Mediterranean climate gives ripe, fruit-driven wines. Sea breezes temper the drying Mistral wind, so the vines aren't stressed and the wine keeps its freshness and aroma.

In the Winery

The grapes are pressed and fermented like a white wine rather than by the 'saignée' method. This minimises harsh phenolics and gives a more delicate rosé with a fine-textured finish.
